HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR MAGNETIC SIGNS

Magnetic signs can last for many years under ideal conditions. Taking good care of your magnetic signs is the best way to ensure that they last as long as possible.

APPLICATION TIPS

Placing a magnetic door sign on your car is quite easy, but a little more complex than simply slapping it on. Read the following application and prep tips to ensure maximum adhesion and extend the lifespan of your sign.

1. Both the surface and the sign should be completely dry.
   
2. For ideal adhesion, make sure the surface is clean. We sell a specially formulated surface cleaner for this purpose. If surface cleaner is not available, wash the surface thoroughly to ensure there are no oils, dirt or other residue present.
   
3. The ideal application temperature is around 60-80 degrees, as magnetic signs are easier to handle at this temperature. If the weather outside is less than ideal, take your application indoors to a covered garage or carport. The magnet will adhere even in extreme temperature, but will be a bit trickier to handle.
   
4. If you are unhappy with the placement, or notice the sign is a bit crooked, do not pull or tug the sign to realign it - doing so may cause stretching. Instead, remove the sign completely to realign.
   
5. The ideal adhesion surface is a flat or slightly curved surface. Don't place magnets between doors or over moldings when you can avoid it, as they create air pockets, preventing the sign from properly adhering to the metal.

STORAGE AND CARE TIPS

1. Store flat whenever possible. If you need to, you can roll the sign, but roll it loosely.
2. Do not stack magnetic signs.
3. Clean the sign and surface regularly. We recommend doing so weekly. If possible, remove the sign during severe weather to prevent damage to the sign.

When properly cared for, a magnetic sign can last for years in most environments.
